Graduation

It's official - I am now a college graduate! SUU graduation was May 5th and it was a really good commencement ceremony. You know how most graduations are long and boring, well the convocation exercise involved just our college (humanities and social sciences) so it was smaller and short. This is me with my parents. And below is my husband and I.

It's nice to be finished but I sometimes forget I don't have to go
back to school in the fall.

this week....

One of my best friends and old college roommate, just had her 2nd baby. This is the card I sent her, it went through a couple revisions and this was the finished product!

And now for this week's good news:

Earlier this week on Monday, was the annual SUTV/Power 91 banquet (for TV and radio students). I was awarded "television student of the year, gold award". I was really excited! Also, today was the induction ceremony for Lambda Pi Eta, the communication honor society. I received my honor cords and certificate, and it looks really neat!

Life...

It's been a long time since I've posted anything. School has been so crazy, especially after midterms it seemed that everything was due at the same time and professors tried to squeeze in as much as possible. With just 3 weeks left of classes then a week of finals, graduation is inching closer. I can't believe this is my last semester of school. It's exciting but at the same time a bit scary. I've worked hard in college and now it's paying off. Brent will graduate too. I'm glad we'll get done at the same time and get to walk together. Brent got accepted into UVSC for his teaching license! It's a year program then he'll be certified to teach. To go into education really takes 5 years like everyone says.

I hadn't heard anything from my college friend for a month and found out that she has Toxemia with her second baby again. So I made her this card hoping it will cheer her up. My mom gave me a Cuttlebug for my birthday and I love it! This was my first attempt using it.

Fun in the Sun

It's been so cold and snowy lately, I needed something bright and tropical! Susan's birthday was on Thursday and I made her this card. It was made with the Fishy Friends set and the palm tree was a Michael's stamp.

Valentine Card

This is the Valentine's card I made my husband. This Stampin' Up set is soo cute, (thanks mom!). It's called 'Love Matters' This isn't made in the traditional pink and red, but it works.

dinner is served

This card is a spin off of the name tag I created for my writing class. I used Stampin' Up!'s "Viola",

"fishy friends" and "too terrific tags" sets. I colored the image with watercolor pencils.
