Christmas cards

So it's finals week and I just finished my last one! Can't believe it's already the end of fall semester! Time goes by so fast and I'm scared out of my mind to graduate. I rather not enter the "real world" and stay in school as a student.
So to get my mind off of studying earlier this week, I made these Christmas cards! All the materials came from Michael's in a little bag and you just put them together. So simple!

make-and-take

Me, mom and Stef went to Archivers today! woohoo! My mom gave me this bag that she bought (for only $5 with $50 purchase). Anyway, we did a make-and-take project and it turned out so cute! It was a music box that plays christmas music and we covered them in paper and prima flowers. I'm a little obsessed with Archiver's and now I think I got my mom hooked too. :)

a little late....

I know Halloween is over but I made this page last night while watching election coverage. This is actually not from this past Halloween but a year before. It's simple but I think it turned out cute. That Halloween we carved a cat in the pumpkin for our little cat we had at the time, Squeaky.

fun weekend

This past weekend Heather, Coy and Stef came down to stay for the weekend. It was fun to just hang out. We watched movies, toured the campus and the SUTV studio and went bowling. Both these pics are on campus. The left one is near the general classroom building and the right is on the outdoor Shakespeare stage. Aren't we so cute!?

Finally...

So I finally finished this project after 2 years! I bought this no-sew wall hanging around this time in 2004, I put it away and since my husband and I have moved so much I never really saw it again. But I found a few days ago, and finished it up. No sewing, gluing or stitching required ~ it's just cutting out the shapes and tucking them into a foam board with a nail file or flat tool of some kind. It's about 12 x 12, so not too big. I now feel a sense of accomplishment!

And.... it's finally here! Archiver's is coming to Utah! I kept wondering when they would come to Utah. I absolutely love, love, love this store! While living in Iowa, there was one right near my apartment and I was there almost every day. Archiver's offers classes and endless scrapbooking/photo stuff. After shopping there, I'm not satisfied with Michael's or Roberts for paper and scrapbooking supplies. It opens November 10th in Orem/Provo so I won't get to go there until Thanksgiving but it is definitely worth the wait!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween Special

On Thursday, the tv class put on our Southern Utah View Halloween special! We took this picture after the show! I am the show producer and host. I dressed up as Miss SUU 1985 (in the blue dress!) The show went well and was a lot of fun. If your ever in Cedar City check us out on Thursdays on cable ch. 9!

Harvest Holiday a.k.a. Huntin' Season

So it's that time again.... the opening day of the hunt! Or for all us non-rednecks in Cedar, the harvest holiday. One may wonder what there is to harvest on Cedar City - essentially, it is just an excuse to have a day off and go out looking for a buck. Personally, I don't like the idea of deer hunting but I have friends who won't miss one day of the hunt. Though I won't complain too much because Monday is a holiday. (woohoo!, no school!) So to each his own this weekend, whether it is simply a break from school or the long awaited weekend to go huntin'.

Ode to Squeak

This here is my beloved Squeaky! Today he went to the vet hospital because he hasn't been feeling well. He is living at my parents house, (3 and half hours away! but they are taking excellent care of him), because my husband and I weren't sure if we could have him in our apartment. He is only a year old and we hope to bring him down here around Thanksgiving. I made this page over the summer and there is actually another page to go along side it. (He deserves the 2-page layout) I think it's rather cute.

halloween treats

Halloween is such a fun holiday, it give me an excuse to eat candy and watch tons of scary movies.
This is one of my favorite Halloween decorations, it's not anything fancy but I got at the bookstore where I used to work and I like the hand painted look. It holds a tealight candle at the top.
I made this card by folding it into thirds, accordion style. I stamped and cut out 3 pumpkins then punched holes for the eyes and nose. To make them look lit I stuck yellow paper behind them. The "trick or treat" is stamped and embossed in black. The grass is just green cardstock then sniped along the edges.
My mom gave me instructions on how to make a bag from a 12 x 12 piece of paper. I made this bag using those instructions then set 2 black eyelets on the side and used a black fuzzy fiber as the handle. I think I'll give it away as a little Halloween gift to someone.

Memories from Snow

I love scrapbooking ~ I think it's so much fun to look back and remember good times. I just finished this page of me and my old roommate Tiffany from Snow College. She had never been ice skating so we went to Gallivan Plaza. No one was there and we had the rink to ourselves! It was so much fun, I just had to make it into a page. I think it turned out pretty cute. I embossed the title and the snowflakes at the bottom. The empty space is for journaling, which I still have to add.
